A small group with a big message
We are a group of people seeking to help others and ourselves. We meet every Thursday at the Denton Community Health Clinic from somewhere around 2:00 until 4:00 PM. The group members decide what they want to work on. Our first two goals have been:

1.      Advocating for people in Denton who need help.

2.      Developing some productive occupations.

We are supported by the Denton Community Health Clinic and TWU’s School of Occupational Therapy. We have advocated with everyone from area agencies to legislators. We engage in crafts and other activities and are hoping to develop a line of recycled products to sell locally. We are advocates with varied experiences who come together to support each other.
One of our recent projects has been to collect the voices of people living with homelessness and or mental health needs in Denton County. Our photovoice project has been part of that effort. Here is the first of several Photovoice2015_1 slide shows.
You are welcome to join us on any Thursday afternoon from 2- 4pm at Denton Community Health Clinic; 525 S Locust St Suite 200.
Feel free to browse the website and come back often as we are building the content! Thank you to Simone Roy-Rollins and Jhanae Kelley from the University of North Texas School of Journalism for getting us started on this website! See their work in the article about TWU’s participation, interviews and videos, and pages with information about homelessness
